In the land of Cestorah, magic is a powerful and revered tool that most humans may never see, as it is coveted and hoarded primarily by those in power. Having no inherent magic power themselves, these humans hunt and exploit the flora and fauna of Cestorah that do possess innate magic, the most potent of which being dragon blood.

Generations ago, humans with draconic blood walked the lands, but their families were eradicated over the years for their magic blood and have been considered extinct for centuries. 

That's the story you learned.

You had no reason to doubt its truth, either, until you encounter your first enchanted item and have a severe reaction to its magic. Scales start growing on your skin, magic pumps through your veins, and more than one suspicious pairs of eyes turn your way.

In Scales of Descent, you must avoid detection and keep your draconic heritage a secret, with the threat of failure carrying with it the cost of your life.
